| I keep thinking I'll write an update sometime, but I think I should do a big, long one, for all the time I have missed, and I don't want to do that. But I'll write one explaining what has been going on for anyone who still checks my poor, neglected site. First off, we were nice and warm while you were freezing your tails off up there during the winter. But, it will become very hot in the summer, and I hate heat more than cold. Pros and cons. Speaking of which I read a joke the other day, "If pro is the oposite of con, than progress is the oposite of con......" I finished the bow for my uncle, named it "The Promise" since I promised it to him quite a long time ago. : ) I also made him a set of bamboo arrows to go with it. Oh, we went on a church reteat, and a speaker was flown in. I got to talking to him, turns out he was just about to buy his first bow (not the type I like, but hey). When I told him I made mine, he became interested and wanted to see. I brought one out (I bring bows everywhere), he told me to shoot a tree about 25-30 yards away. I shot at it, and barely missed. after I got the arrow, he told me to "show me how this works" While I was explaining it to him, a squirrel came down the tree I had just shot at. He shoved the bow into my hands and said "Hit him. take a shot". I raised up and shot, the arrow whizing over the squirrel by about 2". Good times. He taught on Ecclesiastes, and mentioned a verse in it. It said, "Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body." Sounds like a cut down on schoolwork doesn't it? : ) "Be happy young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever you eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgement." Ecclesiastes 11:9 God bless, Sean |
